2020 Dialysis Access Synergy & SoDAS Annual Conference

Challenge:
The Third “Dialysis Access Synergy & SoDAS Annual Conference” was the first time held in Taiwan. We provided an elaborate plan from the medical exhibition to the agenda in order to demonstrate Taiwan’s profession in medical fields with a touch of local custom. However, the outbreak of COVID-19 interrupted the original plan. What could we do to sustain the conference?

Solution:

The host, Taiwan Association for Vascular and Access Health, efficiently decided to cancel the exhibition and turn the conference into a webinar on YouTube and We Chat. It made 64 speakers and doctors from 15 different countries were able to attend without any boundaries. It attracted more than 3,000 views and the number of viewers keeps increasing as well as the influence after the conference.

Under severe pandemic, thanks to the host did correct contingency measures, made the conference successfully reach the purpose: mutual interaction and practical experience exchanging.
